Captain Darius Kinchan of the Royal Brigade here to share with you another momentous finding! I have been in Japan now for six days and have learned only a handful of words, the most important of which is “cha” or “tea”! In Japan, the tea is really excellent so there are a few varieties I will be telling you about. My first Japanese tea is called “Kukicha”, meaning “twig tea”. It is a green tea, made not only of leaves, but from flavorful stalks, stems, and twigs. The flavor is rich and nutty, enjoyed not only by adults, but by fickle children as well! It is almost coffee like in its taste and texture. ?It smells strongly of the woods back home, and steeps to a beautiful mahogany color. I am told by my guide it is very good for my health, since it is high in antioxidants and very low in caffeine!
